I sincerely believe that photography found me during a time in my life when I was desperate for direction. I took a black & white medium format film class and finally felt like I understood the meaning of home. When I am photographing, I am at peace because I am surrounded by the things I value most – family, nature, friendship, true love. I am not interested in props and gimmicks or keeping up with the latest shots on Pinterest. I am only interested in capturing images, expressions, scenes & moments that are honest and warm and more true than you may even realize.
I take the responsibility I’ve been given seriously and I place a high value on sincerity & vulnerability. My clients always become my friends and I believe that is when the magic truly happens… (when the guard is completely down.) It takes great trust between you & me to create that kind of beautiful art. Not just a photograph, but a forever kind of treasure.
My father once told me that my heart fills to bursting which is both a blessing and a curse. I proudly agree with him.
Although I currently reside in Mount Airy, NC with my guys (1 husband, 1 son, 2 pups), I am always ready for an adventure and am more than willing to travel. I look forward to hearing from you!
I had planned on taking the week of Christmas off until I received the most beautiful, well written, doting email from the sweetest, most smitten woman. Elizabeth grew up in NC but has found her true home in Matthew, a restaurant critic from Austin. These two were just the coolest. Smart. Cultured. Witty. Fun. Affectionate. Easy to talk to. I knew that the mountains and open Carolina land meant a great deal to her soul, so I chose to share with them some special places near my home. I stopped after about 10 frames and couldn’t help but comment on how sincere and evident their adoration for one another is. It was just easy, as it should be. It was fulfilling to document and witness. Of all the photographers, she chose me, and my gratitude is abundant. xo
“All the sweetest winds they blow across the south.
Oh my sweet Carolina, what compels me to go?”
"For brides who haven't had their bridal portraits done yet, I have a few pieces of advice. The first being to not skimp on hiring a quality photographer. This is crucial. The photos will last a lifetime, and someone with a general passion, talent, and eye for photography make all the difference. I was lucky enough to know Jordan Brannock. She was the first "vendor" that I hired and I knew my wedding and photos would be a lull without her touch. I always told her that I could have worn a burlap sac and had my photos taken at the landfill and she would have made them exquisite."Nina Marcaccio, Charleston, SC
"You have brought tears to my eyes again. I don't know how you do that in your photography! You see things, Jordan, in ways no one else does."Michelle Melton, Salem College
"You are amazing and I want everyone to see how awesome your work is! You are so genuine and passionate and that comes shining through in your work! These pictures have just made my day!! Reliving our wedding all over again….LOVE, LOVE, LOVE!!!!!!!"Adrienne Stroupe, Charlotte, NC
"I don’t even have the words to express what your photography does to people. The way you capture every nuance of exuberance, confidence, and strength through vulnerability, and how the honesty of the images you produce speaks joy deeply and satisfyingly into the human heart. You do all of this with great skill, artistry and authority, and you do it over and over again, in new settings with new people, with such a sweet and caring spirit. This caring and insightful spirit is deeply evident in your work."TJ Lievsay, Mt. Airy, NC
"Jordan's photographs are more than just portraits of families posing around a camera; her photographs are about relationships and moments frozen in time that we may have otherwise overlooked and forgotten about. Her photographs are about the beauty we overlook every day in real life, the simple things
My son will never again be the age he was in those photos, but I will always have those moments... on the walls of my home and in the albums I will one day pass down to him. For that, I am eternally grateful."Jenny Tierney, Greensboro, NC
"I can only assure you Jordan that you are truly gifted and filled with natural incredible talent. I for one and am most honored to be walking in your shadow."Pat Harris, The Brandon Agency

"Thank you so very much for the incredible pictures you took at our wedding. You really captured the atmosphere and spirit of the day in such a natural way. It was such a great pleasure for me to see them all and see just how very happy everyone was. It was a great confirmation for me to see that everyone enjoyed it. Not only are the pictures framed so well, but you also helped people to feel comfortable enough to be natural and express themselves freely. For this, I'm truly grateful. You bring so much joy to so many people by sharing the talent you have with the world."Simon Munro, Asheville, NC
